A Raw food diet is mostly a plant based vegan diet which includes greens, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains. Heating plant based foods above 118 F is believed to destroy the enzymes that assist in digestion. Cooking also diminishes the nutritional value in food. Most people do not eat enough raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds which will provide them with their daily intake of nutrition. Eating too much cooked foods will lead to the body becoming weaker and face all kinds of health problems. We are the only species on the planet who eat predominantly cooked food and we are the only species who suffer from many health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity to name a few.
There is a lot of information out there which tries to debunk a raw food diet. Remember that most people that seek to destroy the science behind raw food have never tried a raw food diet and so do not know of the health enhancing benefits. There is plenty of research to suggest a raw food diet is health enhancing some of which I will post in this blog. A lot of meat eaters and people addicted to a standard diet high in sugar, salt, and animal fat like to stick with what they know and stay in their comfort zone, addiction is partly the reason for this. The truth can feel like a threat and they will do what ever they can to defend themselves against it because they do not want to change their ways; The truth is raw, the truth is radical and the truth shall set you free.
